Rooted in faith, family and community

Why Bees matter

Rooted in community. Guided by stewardship. Growing with intention.

At Kindred Bees Farm, the name came before the bees. That may sound a little backwards, but in many ways, it makes perfect sense. From the very beginning, bees represented something deeper than honey or hives. They stood for community, purpose, and the quiet, faithful work that happens when everyone plays a part.

While the bees have not arrived at the farm yet, they remain central to the vision we are slowly and thoughtfully bringing to life.

Bees as a symbol of community

Bees do not work alone. Each one has a role, and together they create something far greater than any single bee could on its own. That idea resonates deeply with us. Kindred Bees Farm is being built on the belief that community matters. Neighbors, families, friendships, and shared support all play a role. We believe in showing up for one another, and doing good work with care, and in creating something meaningful together.

Stewardship of the land

As we grow in this farm life, we are learning to slow down and pay attention to the land, the seasons, and the responsibility that comes with being caretakers of a place we have been given. Bees play a vital role in the health of our environment. They pollinate our food, support ecosystems, and remind us how interconnected everything truly is. Even before we have hives of our own, we want to honor that role by being thoughtful about how we farm, how we grow, and how we give back.

Looking Ahead

We hope to add bees to Kindred Bees Farm in the spring, when the timing feels right and the groundwork has been thoughtfully laid. Until then, we are learning, preparing, and approaching that step with care rather than rushing it. We also hope to partner with or support a charity or organization that is actively working to protect bees and their habitats. There are so many meaningful efforts out there, and when the time comes, we want to choose one that aligns with our values and impact.

More than an a name

Kindred Bees is not just about what we produce. It is about how we live and work. It is about faith, family, connection, and caring for what we have been entrusted with. This farm is a work in progress, and we are grateful to share the journey as it unfolds. Thank you for being part of our community. The bees will come, but for now, we are laying the foundation with intention, care and hope.
